Hailed as the world’s largest private yacht, Project Azzam is the name given to a luxury megayacht under construction as of June 2012 and has been reportedly commissioned by the Saudi Royal Family. With a massive price tag of $622 million, Project Azzam could easily become the queen of the most expensive yachts and its sheer size will dwarf the Eclipse superyacht, which is owned by Russian billionaire and owner of the Chelsea football club, Roman Abramovich. The Azzam currently sits in the 220 meter dock of Lurssen, thereby providing ample room for the engineers to complete its development.  It has been observed that Project Azzam will be staffed by 50 of the most experienced staffers that will take of the megayacht 365 days a year and this luxury boat is said to have the capacity to hold a staggering one million liters of fuel in its gigantic fuel tanks.

One of the most prominent appearances of the Le Grand Bleu was recorded in Monaco in the year 2004, when Mr. Abramovich attended the UEFA Champions League, where his team, English football club, Chelsea squared off against AS Monaco.
